I got my magazine in the mail last week. I always look forward to getting my next
Interweave Knits. Though I normally read this rag cover to cover, I'm not often drawn to very many of the designs. This issue is a bit of an exception. I absolutely love the cover sweater, the Equinox Yoke Pullover. Love it. It's similar to some of the Swedish Bohus designs in
Poems of Color by Wendy Keele (I love that book—need to knit something from it one day). I love the shaping and cable work in the Gatsby Girl Pullover. Don't know that I'd ever knit the Saffron Cables afghan, but it's a wonderful all-over cable design that is quite inviting. Now, if someone were to make me one, you'd find me under it most of the winter. The Swallowtail Shawl is quite pretty—I'd probably want to make it bigger. I love the cables in the Coral Crossing pullover, though I'd probably lose the pockets. The Glasgow Lace pullover has a lovely lace design, but unless I found a tank top to wear under it that was the exact right color, I doubt I'd do it. Too many holes in the wrong places. There

are some interesting bags knit up by the staff. This particular set doesn't really attract me, but I mention it because the
patterns are online. I love the men's Spartan Pullover. Dave even likes it. I'll have to remember the pattern is there for the next time I knit him a sweater. The Weekend Pullover has gorgeous cables all over it. If I ever make it I'll have to change the neckline as I can't wear turtlenecks. There's also a darling kid's sweater called, Little Majolica. Adorable!
While I was on their web site I saw a pattern for this wonderful Mrs. Poppins bag. One of these days I really need to knit up a bag or two. I have a number of patterns for them now, and they look like a lot of fun to make. Too many projects, too little time.
Except for the bags (which I thought were all pretty ugly), I agree with you on just about everything in the IK. Overall, though, a good issue!
ReplyDeleteOh--and for BTT? I wrote up questions for both this week AND next week, but on the off-chance that I can't access Blogger tomorrow morning at work (since I now can't access AOL or Typepad), would you publish it for me sometime in the morning?
