The rub is that the photo's 42 years old, and so the picture size is odd. It's only 3.5 x 3.5 inches. And no, a 4 inch frame won't do, as the guy in the store suggested. The only 3.5 inch square frames they had at Aaron Brothers had sparklies and bugs and things. Fru-fru.
I want a simple frame. Understated. Elegant.
Aha, says I. I'll go look on eBay. I found a leather one (simple, but not my style—way too much leather, would over-power this small photo), and a curved one that's double sided (photo on each side), and a sparkly one (ick). That's it.
I looked on Froogle. Found a nice wooden one for $13. Walnut costs, but hey, it's very pretty. They want almost $13 to ship the thing. Please. It's a tiny frame. C'mon folks. I know it won't cost anywhere near that much to ship it.
I did lots of different but similar searches on Google. Nada.
Sigh.
Does anyone have any ideas of where I can find a 3.5 inch square frame online that won't kill me with shipping costs? I'd appreciate it if you can point me somewhere. Thanks!
What about matting it to make up the difference in size?
ReplyDeleteAnd yep, I remember that weird size camera. I had one as a kid, although it was getting to be really hard to find film cartridges...
